How do you know if I would be a good fit for you? Let's meet to talk about it!
In this no-strings-attached consult, we'll grab coffee together and discuss your pregnancy, past birth experiences, due date, and my role as your potential doula. You can also use this time to ask me any questions you may have!
Around 35 weeks, we'll get together (husbands are very much included) and talk through everything you're hoping and planning when it comes to your birth. We'll build a birth plan, get to know each other better, and talk about doula support in more detail. This is also when we sign a contract!
Around 37 weeks, we'll meet again to talk through (in detail!) the stages of labor and pain management. We'll also hit on postpartum and newborn care and make a logistical plan for the day you give birth.
The day has come! Two weeks prior to your due date until you have your baby, I'm on call. As your doula I am available 24/7 to answer any questions you have and come to you when you go into labor. I am with you throughout your whole labor and birth, giving you and everyone in the room the support you need, as we talked about in your birth plan.
After the birth I help you and baby get comfortable, and when the time comes, make sure breastfeeding goes as well as possible. Then I leave you, baby, and your family to snuggle and revel in the joy of having a whole new person there with you!
After your birth, I'll be available by phone and text to support you through your first few weeks of postpartum. I'll also visit you at your home to answer any breastfeeding questions you may have and chat about your birth experience, and offer suggestions for further support if needed.
Saying goodbye at the end of this visit is always bitter-sweet! But I always hope to stay in touch with my old clients and love getting Christmas cards and pictures, even years later!
